Drank some of the new orange juice with calcium I bought (6 points for the entire carton). It tastes pretty good, but it certainly is watered down. I'd been drinking 100% juice with high pulp.
Walked with my dog, Duke, and it was fairly nice this morning. Now I must shower and head to the grocery store for Fourth of July items. Why did I wait to the last minute?
We're invited over to my sister-in-law's for a cookout this afternoon. They're grilling burger and dogs and hubby's brother is making homemade ice cream. There will be the usual snacks, etc. ahead of this. I'm not sure what to do. I'm somewhat ill about even going. I started to buy some beautiful large strawberries and slit them to fill with Weight Watchers cream cheese (1 pt.), but I figured they'd dive on them as soon as I walk in and I would do well to get one, so I didn't get them. Is that mean of me?
I have a recipe for Blueberry cheesecake bars, made with WW cream cheese, fresh berries from my bushes, and Splenda (Truvia). These babies are only 2 points each. I may make them, although with the ice cream, we really don't need another dessert. I would enjoy them while the others eat ice cream, but I know how they are: they'll eat my bars too, which is fine as long as I get some. Am I being selfish? If I stayed home, that would solve the issue, but I really do want to go at least until the skeeters attack.
I decided to have breakfast for lunch: eggbeaters, turkey bacon and creamed cauliflower instead of grits. No bread. Pretty good. I sat beside a lady in last week's meeting who said she eats eggs every day because she loses more weight doing that. Not sure about that. Does anyone know?
I baked the blueberry cheesecake bars from my new Eat What You Love cookbook with WW points listed for every recipe. If they're as good as the batter, I'm in HEAVEN! I have a feeling I'm going to love that book beyond belief. I won't care that my loving family is eating peach ice cream. HA!
Turns out that the men aren't making homemade ice cream. The poor dears will be having carton ice cream. I suppose I'll have to share my decadent bars with them:-| Soon they'll be begging me to prepare more healthy desserts for family functions. There are others who could stand to lose a few pounds.
I snacked on my carrot sticks while the others ate chips and dips. I had a glass of water with strawberry/banana mix and it was good and no points. Ate one burger wrapped in lettuce with a tomato, no mayo, etc. Filled the rest of my plate with carrot sticks. The rest of the family had burgers and hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, and carton ice cream. I put out my blueberry cheesecake bars and a few folks tried them. I brought some home, so I guess they weren't sweet enough for them, but they're a nice alternative to REAL full fat cheesecake, and I'm happy with them.
